One dead, five injured in shooting in Baltimore
BALTIMORE (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Police in Baltimore responded to a shooting Saturday evening which left one man dead and five others injured.
Baltimore Police Commissioner Richard Worley said, in a press conference, the five-year-old girl was shot in the hand and is expected to be okay.
Four other men and one woman were also shot. Their ages ranged from 23 to 52.
"Detectives are going to be at the hospital questioning any of our possible victims and any possible witnesses that we may have had that still were on the scene to see what we can put piece together and find out what happened," Commissioner Worley shared.
Baltimore officers were called to Spaulding and Queensberry Avenues around 8:46 p.m. Eastern for the mass shooting situation.
A resident told an NBC affiliate in Baltimore about the moment he heard the shooting.
"I was listening to music over with headphones. Some thing I heard like a rapid noise, and I realized something happened. But I was like, let me dismiss it. And then all of a sudden, I heard sirens, saw lights flickering against the wall, decided, 'Hey, something's up,' so I went out, started looking around, and I saw a lot of response for medical and police, fire and all that."
