Three people injured in shooting at Times Square

NEW YORK CITY (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Three people were shot and injured at New York City's Time Square early Saturday morning.

According to the New York Police Department, the shooting took place at 1:20 a.m. Eastern. Police arrived to a chaotic scene of people running and gunshot victims lying on the ground.

Several people were sent to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

One person is currently being held in custody for questioning, but no charges have been brought forward.

There are no details on the motive of the shooting and the investigation remains ongoing.
