HAWAII VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK, Hawaii (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Hawaii's Kilauea volcano is erupting.

According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the eruption started early Wednesday morning, sending 150 to 300 foot high fountains of lava from the north vent of the volcano's Halema'uma'u crater.

This is the 30th eruption episode of 2025, with each cycle lasting between 13 hours and eight days.

Current hazards include volcanic gas emissions as well as windblown volcanic glass that may impact Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and nearby communities.
