At least seven injured after a small plane crashed into a car in Florida

LAKE WORTH, Fla. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - At least seven people were injured when a small plane crashed into a car in Florida on Monday.

It happened around 4:30 p.m. Eastern in Lake Worth on Lake Osborne Drive.

When crews arrived on scene, they found that a small, single-engine plane had crashed onto a sidewalk.

Before hitting the ground, the plane skimmed the top of a passenger vehicle. Two people were on board the plane and five were inside the car at the time of the crash.

Both the pilot and passenger of the plane were classified as trauma alerts.

The car was occupied by one adult and four children. They were all taken to the hospital as a precaution.

An investigation is underway.
