Alaska Airlines experiences IT outage, affecting all its operations

SEATTLE (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Seattle-Tacoma Airport was packed late on July 20 after Alaska Airlines experienced an IT outage that affected all its operations.

"We requested a temporary, system-wide ground stop until the issue is resolved," the airline said.

Footage filmed by journalist Anita Kissee shows a packed terminal.

"N gate at Seatac is a mess with the grounded flights," Kissee wrote. "Some flights seem to be boarding, but it's quite chaotic."

The outage was resolved and operations were resumed, the airline said two hours after reporting the issue.
