CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Roads in Maryland flooded

(CBS, KYMA/KECY) - Authorities confirmed rescues were underway after severe storms swept through the Maryland area Saturday.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flash flood emergency for the Silver Spring area, urging drivers to avoid flooded roads.

Footage taken by @MasonWx13879 shows flooding in Silver Spring on Saturday.

"Flash flood in Silver Spring, Maryland caused by a creek overflow," he said in a post on X.

The NWS said "passing showers and thunderstorms" could develop in the area again on Sunday.
