Thief in Massachusetts steals more than $100,000 worth of Pokemon cards

NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - A thief was on the run after stealing more than $100,000 worth of Pokemon cards from a collectibles shop in New Bedford, Massachusetts last Tuesday.

CCTV footage from 1st Edition Collectibles shows a masked figure breaking in with a hammer and then proceeding to sweep decks of cards into his backpack.

City of New Bedford Police Department made a public call for help in identifying the suspect, who remained at large as of July 12.

Following this, the store announced on Facebook it closed all last week "to reflect, regroup, revamp and come back even better." The store reopened Tuesday, July 15.

So far, no arrests have been made.

According to a follow-up post on Facebook, the store put up a flyer to highlight the items stolen during the break-in and asked the community's help to "keep eyes out there" for these items" for them.
