CAUGHT ON CAMERA: Two men inspect a partially submerged car in Iowa

(CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A flash flood emergency was declared in Davenport, Iowa, and surrounding areas Friday as heavy rainfall inundated the area.

Footage captured by Roland Glembine shows two men inspecting a partially submerged car and finding it to be abandoned.

"Flash flooding in Davenport strands car on 41st. Two men attempt rescue but find car already abandoned," Glembine said in a post to X.

The National Weather Service urged residents to seek higher ground and to avoid walking or driving through floodwaters.

The emergency warning was to remain in place until 4:00 a.m. Central Saturday.
