Bear in Canada caught and released after destroying riding lawnmower

(CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A black bear was captured and released by Canadian wildlife officials after it was reported for demolishing the foam seat of a riding lawnmower in June.

Alberta Fish and Wildlife Enforcement (FWE) said its Fort McMurray staff apprehended and relocated a "cinnamon-colored black bear" that had been frequenting a remote-access worksite.

Staff used a helicopter to relocate the bear away from human activity.

"While not the most nutritious snack, this isn't the first time a bear has targeted foam seats of a vehicle while out foraging for food," FWE said. "Almost anything with a smell can serve as an attractant to a hungry bear."
