New Chief named for U.S. Capitol Police

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - The United States Capitol Police Agency has named Michael Sullivan as its new Chief of Police.

Sullivan, who has over 30 years of law enforcement experience, will replace Acting Chief of Police Sean Gallagher.

Sullivan started his policing career with the Louisville Division Police Department in Kentucky back in 1995.

He has worked as Deputy Chief in Louisville and a Deputy Commissioner for the Baltimore Police Department.

More recently, he served as the Interim Chief at the Phoenix Police Department. Sullivan will be sworn in on June 30.
