THC edibles tied to early heart disease
(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - People who regularly smoked marijuana or ate THC-laced edibles showed early signs of cardiovascular disease; similar to tobacco smokers.
That conclusion comes from a small study, as research found vascular function was reduced by more than 40% in marijuana smokers.
The function fell by more than 50% of people who ate THC edibles regularly compared to those who did not.
A study author stresses that the research only reveals an association and not a cause.
