Child care costs continue to rise

(CNN, KYMA/KECY) - Child care is getting more and more expensive with the annual price of child care increasing by 29% from 2020 to 2024.

That's according to a new report by Child Care Aware of America. Last year, the national average price for child care was just over $1,300.

Meanwhile, the Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports shows that the fertility rate in the U.S. is near a record low.

A U.S. government agency said that this year a drop in birth rate is one of the more possible impacts of rising health care and child costs.
