Kid in Kentucky accidentally orders over 70,000 Dum-Dum suckers
LEXINGTON, Ky. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A Kentucky mom received a delivery she hadn't bargained for: Stacks of boxes of lollipops.
It turns out the sweet surprise was ordered by her young son while he played on her phone.
Holly LaFavers says she tried to cancel her eight-year-old son's Amazon order for about 70,000 Dum-Dum suckers, but it was apparently too late.
The online retail giant delivered 22 cases of the treats to her home near Lexington.
"He told me that he wanted to have a carnival...and he was ordering the Dum Dums as prizes for his carnival...He was being friendly. He was being kind to his friends," LaFavers shared.
LaFavers says her account said she owed about $4,000 for the order. She also learned eight more cases were unaccounted for.
A trip to the Post Office showed those cases were returned to sender, according to LaFavers, and after some effort, she says her money was refunded.
