Filipino community in Vancouver hold vigil following the Lapu-Lapu Day Festival tragedy

VANCOUVER, Canada (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Vancouver's Filipino community mourned Sunday following the Lapu-Lapu Day Festival tragedy.

They gathered at Kensington Community Center in Vancouver to mourn the 11 people killed and dozens more injured after a driver of a black SUV drove into a Filipino street festival in the city's Sunset neighborhood Saturday.

They lit candles and placed flowers to honor the victims.

The vigil came as police identified the suspect as 30-year-old Kai-Ji Adam Lo in connection with the incident.

Lo has been charged with eight counts of second-degree murder.
