Vice President J.D. Vance meets with Pope Francis at the Vatican
VATICAN CITY (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Vice President J.D. Vance met with Pope Francis at the Vatican Sunday.
The private meeting was brief, only lasting a few minutes, according to the Vatican. The vice president, who is Catholic, and the pope exchanged Easter wishes.
Vance has been visiting Italy with his family this weekend. On Saturday, he met with senior Vatican officials for more formal talks.
Pope Francis, who is recovering from double pneumonia, did not take part in those discussions.
