Deputy in upstate New York watches over beaver carrying a branch across a highway

DELAWARE COUNTY, N.Y. (CBS, KYMA/KECY) - A sheriff's deputy in upstate New York watched over a local beaver as it slowly hauled a branch across a highway, video posted on March 14 shows.

Footage posted by the Delaware County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) shows a few downed trees along the side of the highway, and a beaver that was making the most of the situation.

"Wow…look at this industrious fella hauling his freshly harvested limb across State Highway 10 in the Town of Tompkins," DCSO wrote.

"Many thanks to Deputy Sheriff Logan Flavell for providing scene safety until he was safely across the road," the post added.
