Five people injured following a shooting during a New Year’s Eve celebration in Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (NBC, KYMA/KECY) - Five people were shot at a New Year's Eve celebration in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Just before midnight, police say a gunman opened fire on a crowd ringing in the new year in a downtown park, hitting five people.

All the victims are expected to recover.

Police have arrested a suspect, but it's unclear what led to the shooting.
