No Powerball winner in Monday’s drawing, climbed to $1 billion

(NBC, KYMA/KECY) - The Powerball jackpot has now climbed to $1 billion after no one won Monday night's drawing.

The winning numbers in Monday night's drawing were 5, 8, 9, 17, 41 and the Powerball was 21. The estimated jackpot was $900 million. The next drawing is this Wednesday, July 19.

The new jackpot for Wednesday's drawing would be the third highest in U.S. history and will keep growing until someone wins.

Powerball is played in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto rRco and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
