West Virginia drops Great Pepperoni Roll to ring in the New Year

MARION COUNTY, W.V. (NBC) - West Virginia residents rang in the New Year with Mannington's 4th Annual New Years' Eve Great Pepperoni Roll Drop.

Ahead of the Pepperoni Roll Drop, many attendees enjoyed an evening of live music, games, and various food vendors.

After the roll dropped, attendees then toasted the New Year with miniature pepperoni rolls.

Overall, the Pepperoni Roll is the unofficial state food of West Virginia.
