Two weeks after killing his infant daughter, CT father is in custody

WATERBURY, Conn. (NBC) - 14 days on the run, Christopher Francisquini is now in custody.

Waterbury Police responded to a community tip just after 3:00pm Friday, leading directly to Francisquini's location.

"This case highlights the value of community members assisting law enforcement in apprehending violent offenders," FBI Agent Joseph Altimari spoke.

How the police apprehended Francisquini

Furthermore, Police body cam footage shows Francisquini, standing unarmed at Waterbury bus station just five miles from where police say he killed his 11 month old daughter Camilla.

"After establishing a dialogue with Francisquini ultimately, we're able to take him into custody without incident," Naugatuck Police Chief Colin McAllister said.

Later, a convoy of cruisers took Francisquini to the Naugatuck Police Department on charges of murder.

Not only that, the police also charged Francisquini with special circumstances and risk of injury to a child.

Also, officials say his bond descended $5 million and his parole has been revoked.

"I want to reassure the community here tonight that he will not be released back out there. He is being held on those charges prior to any of his court proceedings," McAllister continued.

Lingering questions

In addition, police say there are a number of questions still under investigation.

What was his motive? Where was he hiding? And was he alone?

"We can't rule out that there may be additional arrests if we can determine that somebody was assisting or helping him," McAllister answered.

While officials search for answers, Francisquini will appear in Waterbury superior court on Monday.

"This is something that isn't going to be forgotten by any members of this agency...due to the nature of this case and the heinous nature of the crime that was committed against baby Camilla," McAllister concluded.
