High gas prices leading to higher non-gas spending

MGN

(KYMA, KECY/CNN) - A JP Morgan analysis says high prices at the pump are turning Americans away from spending money on gas.

Analytics show a spike in gas prices meant non-gas spending reached about $9.6 billion a month.

The national average for gas went down by a penny to $4.43 a gallon on Friday.
