January 31 is National Hot Chocolate Day

(KYMA, KECY/CNN) - Monday, January 31 is National Hot Chocolate Day, which celebrates the chocolatey beverage.

Hot chocolate was probably created about 2,000 years ago by Mayans and was later offered for stomach ailments.

Cocoa from the drink also has some health benefits, such as including antioxidants which prevents certain cancers.

Certain flavors within the chocolate can also help the heart and memory.

Of course, marshmallows are highly recommended to add to the flavor.
