GUAYANILLA, PUERTO RICO (KYMA, KECY) - Quake-battered Puerto Rico was hit again by a 5.0 magnitude earthquake Saturday.

The earthquake hit southern Puerto Rico, near the town of Guayanilla.

The U.S. Geological Survey says it occurred at a shallow depth, near the epicenters of most of the recent quakes this month.

This latest quake comes a day after hundreds of Puerto Ricans were evacuated from outdoor shelters that flooded due to heavy rain, reports NBC.

Puerto Rico has been reeling from earthquakes and aftershocks, especially since a 6.4 quake struck on January 7.

Since then the island has experienced earthquakes every day for nearly a month.
