Department of Defense says it boarded another oil tanker

(NBC, KYMA) - The Department of Defense (DoD) said it boarded another oil tanker overnight.

In post on X, the DoD said "U.S. forces conducted a right-of-visit, maritime interdiction and boarding of the Veronica III."

It took place without incident in the INDOPACOM area of responsibility.

The department said the vessel "tried to defy President Trump's quarantine," and was tracked from the Caribbean to the Indian Ocean where U.S. forces "shut it down."
