Iran launches retaliatory strike on U.S. bases in Qatar

DOHA, Qatar (CNN, KYMA/KECY) - A U.S. military base in Qatar was attacked by Iran with short and medium range ballistic missiles Monday.

An U.S. base in Iraq was also targeted.

Defense officials say so far, there are no reports of U.S. casualties.

Qatar's military air defenses says it successfully intercepted multiple Iranian missiles flying over Doha.

Monday's attack by Iran was in response to the U.S. striking its nuclear facilities Saturday.

Iran says the number of missiles fired at the U.S. base in Qatar matches the number dropped by the U.S. on Iran's nuclear sites.

Qatar has condemned the attack and said it reserves the right to respond.
