People reported missing in Mexico after Tropical Storm Rachel

MEXICALI, Mexico (KYMA) - Two people, including a child, are missing in San Felipe, Mexico following heavy rains from Tropical Storm Rachel.

Eight more people are reported missing Ensenada.

While search operations are underway across the state to locate the missing, the death of a girl has also confirmed.

In Mexicali, 14 people were rescued from flooding caused by the storm, and two underpasses remained closed until Sunday morning due to flooding on roadways.

"Collection centers have already been set up at all government offices in Baja California; we are continuing to assess damage and clear main streets, and are working to restore affected basic services," said Marina del Pilar, Governor of Baja California.

Classes at schools in Mexicali and across Baja California were canceled Monday as people recover from the storm.
