At least 17 dead in hospital flood in Mexico

(KYMA, KECY/ CNN) - At least 17 people died following the flooding of a hospital in Central Mexico after heavy rains hit the region on Monday.

Authorities confirmed the number of deaths on Tuesday, while the Hospital Director said 40 patients were transferred to nearby health centers.

The Hidalgo State Governor said authorities are in the process of aiding in search and rescue missions.
