San Luis Rio Colorado cases now at 184

HERMOSILLO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - As of Friday evening, health officials report 49 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) cases in Sonora, with one new case reported in San Luis Rio Colorado (SLRC).

In his daily press briefing, the Sonora Secretary of Health, Enrique Clausen Iberri made no mention of new or total deaths in the state.

These 49 new cases in Sonora elevate the total to 534 cases.

Iberri says of the new cases, 12 are women, and are 37 men, between 8-61 years old. This includes the sixth pediatric patient who Iberri says is quarantined at home.

In the last four days, the state has seen an increase of over 100 cases. There are now 156 cases in Hermosillo, a total which health officials say doubled in just a week.

Of the new cases, only one pertains to SLRC.

Iberri asks the public not to leave their homes unless absolutely necessary, reprimanding those who go out and stand in line to purchase alcohol and those planning to celebrate Mother's day in masses on the 10th.
