AMVets are dealing with the aftermath of a recent fire
Managers at the local American Veterans Services Organization are trying to find ways to rebuild and come back to help Veterans.
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Managers of a local American Veterans post are dealing with the aftermath of a fire that ripped through their building.

They say the fire first started in a refrigerator out back and the wind caused it to spread to the rest of the building.
People in the building had to evacuate, and while no one was hurt, AMVet lost plenty of food, drinks, and almost everything inside.
June Condon, the manager of AMVet, shares how they're feeling after the fire destroyed the building.
"Sadness...we have no place for our Veterans…we've worked very very hard for 15 years to make this place something for people to come and have a place to call their home," said June.

Upon entering the actual building one can see all the damage and destruction.
Local Veteran and fellow manager Mike Condon shares why he finds places like this, that help Veterans, are so importat.
"We all help Veterans. Unless you're a Veteran, you'll never understand what the Veterans went through, even in just boot camp," said Mike.
If you would like to help, the managers are asking for prayers, a GoFundMe page, and possible donations for a new building.
Mike shares how it feels to help, as he said the job brings him goosebumps.

"It's such a good feeling when you are able to help, World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and the Desert Wars Veterans," said Mike.
The managers hope to be up and running again in three weeks but need as much help and support as they can.
