YRMC celebrates 10 years of its Cancer Center and unveils its Art Heals Exhibit 3

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) celebrated ten years of its Cancer Center and unveiled its new Art Heals exhibit.

Over the past decade, the center has provided state-of-the-art cancer care, treatment, and support to local patients.

The director of the facility says Yuma has one of the lowest cancer mortality rates and more than 95% of patients are able to receive their care here in Yuma without leaving.

"We want to be one of the cancer programs who are bringing in new technologies and new treatments for our patients. Definitely, we are in the race to cure cancer," says Dr. Abhinav Chandra, the Medical Director at the YRMC Cancer Center.

The Art Heals exhibit features work from local artists which they hope can offer calmness and comfort to the patients.
