Locals mourn four crash victims

BRAWLEY, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Brawley community continues to mourn the four people who lost their lives in a fatal crash.

Authorities have not confirmed the names of the four victims who died Monday morning.

But Brawley Union High School issued a statement Monday afternoon, sending prayers to their families and friends.

At the crash site, locals have placed flowers, teddy bears, and candles for the four victims.

We spoke to a student from Brawley High who expressed his condolences.

“It sucks. It’s just hard to see everyone down and upset that their friend or cousin or brother you it’s gone. It’s really hard to see.” Joshua Betro, Brawley resident.

The crash happened on Cattle Call Drive by Cattle Call Park.

Police say the vehicle caught fire after hitting a tree that was on the side of the road.

The crash is still under investigation.
