Seniors can schedule a free transportation ride for National Senior Day event
EL CENTRO, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The City of El Centro will be hosting an event celebrating senior citizens on National Senior Citizens Day.
The event will take place on August 21 at the Martin Luther King Jr. Sports Pavillion in El Centro.
“We wanna make sure senior citizens find a place where we can celebrate their many accomplishments places where they can come together receive resources and specifically with the theme of Around the World we’re going to celebrate cultural events have food recources information and really just having the opportunity to celebrate,” said Martha Cardenas Singh, Mayor of El Centro.
Starting Monday, senior locals can register for a free ride to and from the event from Imperial Valley Transit.

Pickup locations are Brawley, Calexico, Calipatra, El Centro, Imperial, and Westmorland.
