YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - With school starting back up, the Yuma Police Department shared how they are helping Yuma County schools for the day they never want to face.

They want to ensure everyone is prepared to keep everyone safe.

There are School Resource Officers in all elementary, middle, and high schools in the City of Yuma.

Each school creates drills and procedures that best suit the school.

Sgt. Lori Franklin, Yuma Police Sergeant Public Affairs shared that if something does happen or there is a threat, all parents will need to stay away so all the first responders can assist the situation.
