Game and Fish Department gets hunters ready for Dove season

KYMA

All hunters need to purchase a hunting license and migratory bird stamp with the Arizona Game and Fish Department

YUMA, Ariz. (KECY, KYMA) - Dove hunting season opens up in just over one month, and the Arizona Game and Fish Department wants to make sure you’re ready to go come September 1.

Most importantly, all hunters need to purchase a hunting license and migratory bird stamp with the Arizona Game and Fish Department.

Including hunters coming from out of state.

This can be done online and only takes 10 minutes.

Last year’s dove hunt saw pre-pandemic numbers of hunters return to Yuma County and this year’s hunt is also expected to draw a big crowd.

“Mostly because the hunt opens on a Friday, a lot of people coming from out of state can take one day off of work and they’re here in full force. This is great for the City of Yuma for our town, the hotels and restaurants. It really boosts our local economy," said Wildlife manager Yoselin Hyink.

Licenses can be purchased here.
