New mural created by students, partnership with Arizona at Work

The mural was a collaboration between the City of Yuma Parks and Recreation, Arts and Culture Division, and ARIZONA@WORK

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Students came together to create a mural reflecting the community surrounding Carver Park. A total of nine students created a mural with elaborate details from the choice of colors to the choice of designs.

They included the James E. Jefferson Bridge because he was a civil rights activist here in Yuma.

And the letters of the park sign were in a sunset gradient due to the amazing Yuma sunsets.

Most of the students have little to no experience prior to painting this mural.

This program has been going on for the last 26 years and they have been able to create 28 murals all across Yuma.
