Arizona Special Olympics returns to Yuma

Kennedy Park hosts Arizona Special Olympics unifying event

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Arizona Special Olympics hosted the 9th annual unified event at Kennedy Park.

Local students worked together competing for gold, silver, and bronze medals in a variety of activities ranging from soccer, cornhole, bocci ball, and slow-pitch baseball.

A total of seven elementary schools in Yuma participated in the event.

Mary A. Otondo Elementary School was awarded the most medals, followed by Rolle Elementary.
