Gas prices in Arizona and California are above the national average

People in the valley are filling up for more than locals in Yuma - Adam Klepp reports.

YUMA, Ariz. (KECY, KYMA) - Locals are paying more for gas on either side of the state line as President Biden looks to give Americans a gas rebate.

Grant, a local, is filling up at the Chevron in Sidewinder on his way to Dallas.

“I think they’re pretty ridiculous,” he said.

On his way home he expects gas to cost him 350 dollars.

Yumans, paying less than that Chevron charging $6.79 a gallon, with local prices around $4.85 a gallon according to GasBuddy.

Americans continue to bargain hunt for the lowest price as President Biden looks to ease the pain at the pump.

Also on the table, temporarily suspending the federal gas tax, which would save drivers 18 cents a gallon.

“I hope I have a decision based on the data I’m looking for by the end of the week," Biden said.
