NILAND, Calif. (KYMA, KECY) - The Niland Public Safety Facility (NPSF) will serve Niland residents with Imperial County Fire and Sheriff services, along with a cool center for residents during the summer months.

NPSF had it's ribbon cutting ceremony on May 29.

The County of Imperial says the NPSF began in 2017 when the former Imperial County Community & Economic Development Agency submitted a grant application to the California Department of Housing & Community Development to construct the facility.

The total project cost was $5,484,893.00 and was fully funded by the California Department of Housing and Community Development.
