Eligible AWC students can be reimbursed for childcare expenses
Arizona Department of Economic Security Division of Child Care awarded AWC this grant
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Arizona Western College (AWC) and the Child Development Learning Lab were awarded grant funding to reimburse students for childcare expenses.
According to AWC, the Higher Education Child Care Project (HECCP) gives qualified childcare assistance to students who are pursuing a degree in Healthcare, K-12 Education, or Early Childhood Education.
This project is made possible through federal Child Care and Development Block Grant COVID-19 relief funds.
So, students who are enrolled in a full-time, part-time, or certificate degree at the Yuma, San Luis, or Parker campuses can apply for HECCP funding.
AWC said applications are being accepted until January 31, 2024, for retroactive reimbursement from May 15, 2023.
Students who want to apply have to be enrolled at AWC and meet all eligibility requirements during the term(s) they are asking for reimbursement for childcare expenses.
AWC said the project end date is on June 30.
