San Luis city officials participate in US-MX Binational Bridges and Border Crossing meeting

The meeting discussed every port of entry project along the Arizona, California, and Texas borders with Mexico

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Council Member Matias Rosales and Council Member Tadeo Azael De La Hoya presented on the San Luis I Port of Entry Modernization Project and what is being projected by the counterparts in San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora.

Both council members joined federal, state, and local officials from both Mexico and the U.S. on Friday at the Binational Bridges and Border Crossing meeting in Washington, DC.

“It is an honor to represent the City of San Luis at BBBX in Washington, DC. We are excited to showcase the most recent federal investment for the San Luis I Port of Entry,” stated Council Member and Greater Yuma Port Authority Chairman Matias Rosales.

“By presenting, it allows us to bring forth a project that took collaboration from state partners, federal agencies, local municipalities, and their counterparts in Mexico,” he added. “While some feel that projects like these are impossible, let this soon-to-be new Port of Entry serve as an example that infrastructure projects are possible with hard work, time, and support from all stakeholders, we are proof that they are possible to obtain,” he concluded.

The meeting was hosted by the United States Department of Security along with its Mexican counterparts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, convenes all the principal, federal, and state stockholders from both countries to discuss every port of entry project along the Arizona, California, and Texas borders with Mexico.
