Narcotics Task Force arrest Yuma man and seize drugs and weapons
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - A 54-year-old Yuma man has been arrested for possession of drugs and misconduct involving weapons.
According to the Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO), the arrest occurred on Friday, July 14 at around 7:10am, in the area of E. 35th Street, S. Cassidy Road, and S. Paula Avenue, after the Yuma County Narcotics Task Force (YCNTF), a multi-agency task force comprising of officers and agents of YCSO and Homeland Security Investigations, served a narcotics warrant.
After serving the warrant, and with the help of YCSO K-9 Aisha, YCSO says the task force found the following items:
- 6.80 ounces of methamphetamines.
- 50 grams of black tar heroin.
- 2.1 grams of cocaine.
- 73 fentanyl pills.
- 10 ounces of marijuana.
YCSO calculated the drug's street value to $7,018. The task force also seized 12 marijuana plants, equipment for manufacturing THC, paraphernalia, and multiple firearms.
Afterwards, the task force arrested the suspect, a 54-year-old Yuma man, and booked him into the Yuma County Detention Center for the following charges:
- Possession of dangerous drugs and dangerous drugs for sale.
- Possession of narcotics and narcotics for sale.
- Possession of marijuana.
- Possession of drug paraphernalia.
- Misconduct involving weapons.
