Construction work underway despite heat

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The high temperatures are not stopping construction projects this summer.

Several work sites can be found in full swing throughout the city.

Out in the Foothills, one work crew started before sunrise to beat the heat.

The crew said it takes necessary precautions to stay heat smart and has a word of advice for other construction workers.

“Take care right, right, the heat it’s going to be more than 100 degrees. Take it easy, take it easy, and drink a lot of water," said Francisco Hernandez, crew on-site lead.

The crew is scheduled to work on the Foothills Multipurpose Complex for another two to three months.
