Apartments for low-income families

SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Dozens of low-income families in San Luis, Arizona now have a new place to call home.

On Thursday, Comite De Bien Estar welcomed 86 families to the "Valley View Apartments," which has 10 buildings with two, three, and four-bedroom homes.

This housing complex completes one of the biggest projects south of Yuma County.

"This apartment complex completes a 411 units project here and in Somerton. We also lease another 18 units to farm workers. Our focus was always farm workers but now we include anyone who needs an affordable home," stated Comite De Bien Estar Executive Director Tony Reyes.

The cost of the project was over $20 million.

Comite De Bien Estar hopes to start a second phase in six months.
