Houston’s Yuma Furniture continues holiday tradition
Company adopts two families and gives out toys
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Houston's Yuma Furniture adopted two families for the companies annual adoption event: The Stanley's and the Zepeda's.
"This is what its about. We love to give to the community. We're also a community-based business. We've been here for four generations. It's very important and very special to us," said Houston's Yuma Furniture Store Manager Caroline Dempsey.
Furthermore, both families were adopted by the store from Crane Middle School.
One family is a migrant family while the other is homeless, living at the Crossroads Mission.
Each family received some gifts.
"We have bicycles, a kitchen set, [and] sets of clothes and things like that. So, that's very special," Dempsey continued.
Not only that, other employees were glad to contribute to the cause.
Seeing the kids leave here with a big smile, seeing them leave here with a big heart...[we made] dreams come true," said Sales Manager Albert Gutierrez.
While Santa Claus visited and contributed to help the family, Chuck E. Cheese donated several gifts for children to enjoy.
