YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Managers from the Bureau of Land Management's (BLM) Colorado River District are conducting a planned prescribed burning.

Overall, the burning will happen between November and March, depending on weather and fuel conditions.

According to a press release, the burning will occur at Mittry Lake Wildlife Area, about 12 miles north of Yuma.

The burning will also occur at Walter's Camp, about 26 miles south of Blythe, California.

Furthermore, the prescribed burning and removal of vegetation piles will help reduce the threat and spread of wildfires.

Not only that, the burnings will improve access in these areas.
