Kennedy park seeks grant for upgrades

Yuma Parks & Recreation have applied for $250,000 grant

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - Yuma Parks and Recreation was recently informed that they would be eligible to apply for several grants as part of the Arizona Parks Grant Initiative.

"We took advantage of that notice, and applied for one for the inline hockey rink specifically to replace all of the outdoor lights that are there, they're aging and simply need to be replaced," said Eric Urfer, Yuma Parks & Recreation Director.

In addition to the inline hockey rink, the desired grant would also upgrade LED lighting for stadium lights as well as stadium lighting for athletic fields.

Yuma Parks and Recreation is also considering upgrades to other featured attractions at parks around the city.
