YUHSD seeking artist submissions for Somerton High School logo

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - The Yuma Union High School District says it's currently accepting submissions for the Somerton High School logo.

The district recently announced the brand new school's mascot—the Toros.

“The logo submission is part of the process for branding the new school,” YUHSD Chief Communications Officer Eric Patten. “We have wanted the community to be a part of it throughout that process. They helped us choose the colors and the mascot, and now it’s time to have that mascot come to life.”

All designs should have aspects of the mascot name (Toros) and school colors (copper and navy blue):

  • Hex codes for the school colors are Copper (#b87333) and Navy Blue (000080).
  • White and black colors are accepted.

Per YUHSD, submissions including any colors other than the school's official colors or any mascot other than Toros will not be considered.

Rules for submissions from YUHSD are as follows:

  • Digital files preferred.
  • Sketches or hand-drawn artwork should be scanned prior to uploading.
  • Serious submission only.
  • All submissions should be in PDF or JPG/PNG image format.
  • No large design files.

Submissions will be accepted through Sunday, April 10, 2022.

Artwork can be submitted through: https://bit.ly/SHSLogoSubmit.
