Arizona’s most prized bird lands in Yuma

"Big Red" along with members of the Arizona Cardinals visited Yuma for a special camp
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - It was an exciting day for students at H.L. Suverkrup Elementary as students looked on to an obstacle course with an official Arizona Cardinals vehicle parked in the middle.
But, in a matter of seconds what seemed like a calm and collected crowd soon exploded in excitement as the most famous of birds made its way towards them.
Big Red the official mascot of the Arizona Cardinals ran towards a tidal wave of H.L.S. Bulldogs eager to shake its feathers.
Yards away from the crowd were members of the Arizona Cardinals team, support staff, and a group of America's finest. U.S. Marines were on hand to lend the Cardinals some support in making this day a more memorable one.
The camp is a coordinated effort between the National Football League and Gatorade to promote an active lifestyle for children in elementary schools.
The Gatorade Junior Training Camp works with the school's physical education department to reinforce healthy living.
Prior to taking part in the drills, students had to warm up. They then ran drills, similar to those run by NFL players.
