The Nostalgia Car Club is known for its classic cars and their generosity
YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) - They're called winter visitors or snowbirds, others call them Yumans. Each year, the Desert Southwest explodes in population as these Yumans come home.
Among those wandering Yumans are members of clubs like the Nostalgia Car Club. Each year, they take part in a number of events, giving others a glimpse into their life-long passion.
The Nostalgia Car Club is known for its collection of classic cars. Builds range from numbers-matching classics to frame-up restorations.
Each year, the Nostalgia Car Club hosts its annual car show at the Palms RV Resort. Attendance ranges in the thousands, and those numbers translate into funds for local nonprofits.
This year, the club chose to donate to the Safe House - a local nonprofit that provides victims of abuse with shelter, clothing, food, and financial assistance.
In total, $3,100 was donated to the Safe House. Nostalgia Car Club President, John Romanucci, says that this is just a part of who they are. He adds that his members have been very fortunate, and helping those in need is just the right thing to do.
