AWC celebrates Oktoberfest in its own unique way

Arizona Western College's party promotes an alcohol-free lifestyle

YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA< KECY) - Celebrated throughout the world for more than two centuries Oktoberfest started in the early 1800s. The celebration is known for its music, its food and of course its beer.

So, when Arizona Western College decided to host an event to educate the public about the dangers of alcoholism they went with their own version of the famed German holiday.

Instead of Oktoberfest the college will be hosting its Octsoberfest. Now, there will be some similarities in that there will be root beer pong, and goggles that will give you the feeling that you indulged a little too much,

Also on the menu will be several informational booths from campus services, to health organizations and area law enforcement. Octsoberfest will take place on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the 3c Building Breezeway at the school's main campus.
